Julie has a diverse professional and education background in both clinical psychology and business. She is an experienced clinical psychologist having worked over 15 years in roles within public and private mental health settings, as well as lecturing and supervising at a tertiary level within postgraduate psychology training programs. Prior to registering as a psychologist, Julie worked in various roles in management, marketing, administration, and consulting, predominantly in the IT and not-for-profit sectors.
Having supported many individuals and groups experiencing mental ill health through her clinical psychology practice, Julie has witnessed firsthand the impacts of mental ill health. As a result, Julie has developed a passion for preventative mental health and wellbeing initiatives, and helping organisations and leaders create psychologically safe and healthy work environments that enable individuals and organisations to thrive.
Julie’s key areas of expertise include mental health, employee assistance programs, individual coaching, psychometric testing (e.g., personality and cognitive ability), and developing and delivering mental health and wellbeing group education programs. Julie is experienced in many models of psychological therapy, and preferences acceptance and commitment therapy/coaching, positive psychology and solutions focused models to deliver effective interventions.
Julie is an experienced group trainer and facilitator who is approachable and strives to create an engaging environment with opportunities for experiential learning. She is skilled at communicating complex psychological concepts in a way that is easy to understand, and she works collaboratively with clients to understand their unique challenges so that tailored solutions can be designed to achieve their goals.
